Poznan is cool!

Thursday

Off the main highway means contending with sand roads and flooded sand roads after thunderstorms. Only one thunderstorm today but 30 kms extra to avoid the main highway.

Poznan is very lively and very popular with young people. It is big but has a clear center, Start Rynek. This Old Market Square has been rebuilt faithfully in the Renaissance style after its demolition in a 'last stronghold' battle against the rapidly advancing Russians at the end of WWII.

The square contains the Venetian looking town hall, the Ratusz. There's much more including the Imperial Palace built for German Emperor Wilhelm Il.

Poland has a fantastic integrated public transport system with an online timetable that is easily interpreted. Graphics show you the progress of your journey.

I hope to get some more snapshots on my way out.
